Foster Care P.R.I.D.E. Training

Nearly 700,000 abused and neglected children will spend time in foster care in the USA this year. Each day, 1200 children are removed from their parent’s care and placed somewhere in the child welfare system. More than half live in just nine states, and Michigan is one of them. Some of these children will be separated from their siblings or bounced from one unstable foster care placement to another, never knowing when they’ll be uprooted next. Children in our own community are in desperate need of safe, nurturing homes. Could your home be one of them?

In partnership with GO Hope, the State of Michigan, and local private agencies, Kensington Church is offering a unique opportunity to become a licensed foster parent.

Choose from two dates for required orientation:

Tuesday, May 22 at 7pm

or

Saturday, May 26 at 9am

All training sessions will be held at Kensington Church, Troy Campus, 1825 E. Square Lake Rd Troy, MI 48085

Educational Events
GO Hope offers special educational events every other month to help you tackle the tough issues related to foster care and adoption. These events are open to all, regardless of whether you are already in the process of fostering/adopting or just want to learn more. For those already in the process, our educational events often count toward required training hours, so be sure to check with your case worker. Small Groups

Join a small group offered through Giving Orphans Hope, OR sign up for a mentor connection where we pair couples who have fostered or adopted with singles/couples who want to take that step.

Mentoring Program
For those seeking a one-on-one (or two-on-two) mentoring relationship, our mentor program might be just the thing. Contact Jessica Wolfe (wolfe@givingorphanshope.org) for more information on how you can become a mentor or sign up to be paired with one.
